Speech and Drama Lessons

As an extension of her work as a LAMDA teacher in schools and by popular demand, from November 2023, Ellie will be launching private speech and drama lessons, taking place after school for students aged 8+. Through study one-to-one, in pairs and very small groups, students will be prepared to showcase their developing skills and confidence through taking LAMDA examinations and participating in numerous exciting performance opportunities.

Professional focus

Performance and Communication School will focus on training, and the development of professional skills involved in acting and the related disciplines. We are not an extension of "normal" school, but a place to come and invest in yourself and work on your craft with like-minded peers and theatre professionals.

Flexible difference

We are completely flexible. We run lessons both in-person and online or a mixture of both, to suit you. Aside from a break over Christmas we run lessons all year round, not in line with the school terms, so say goodbye to paying for terms of lessons, some of which you can't attend due to illness, family commitments or exams. Only pay for the lessons you attend, arranged to suit your schedule!

More Information

Whilst taking the exam will be optional, all students of PCS will study towards an annual LAMDA examination. LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) is the oldest and one of the most prestigious drama schools in the country, the training ground for the young Benedict Cumberbatch, Ruth Wilson and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

In addition, LAMDA also offer a suite of examinations, open to the public, in a range of performance and communication based subjects. All examinations support students to develop lots of skills and knowledge including, but not limited to, speaking in public, development of language skills, appreciation of literature and working as part of a team. Development of technique and skills is extremely important for the young actor and LAMDA exams are at the heart of what we do, hence we are the Performance and Communication School, named after the two main bodies of LAMDA study.

The following LAMDA subjects will be offered at all grades (Entry Level-Grade 8 and above):

Acting
Devising Drama
Speaking Verse and Prose
Speaking in Public
Shakespeare in Performance
PcertLAM

There will also be lots of performance opportunities, tailored to your interests.
